Fast Forward Friday: Pacing Goals Headed to Raleigh!! + KickYo…The New Runners Cross-Training?!
Happy Fridayyyyy friends! This week has been quite the doozy of a week ranging from epic hi’s to not-so-fun lo’s. Today I want to share with you the hi’s and the super hi’s fixing to happen. I am fast forwarding past this week. Onward and upward!
First, I am excited to share with y’all that KickYo BootCamp has been a blast so far. These ladies are so much fun, we all break a sweat and workout to feel strong! My favorite part is all the punching. I won’t lie. #angermanagement I am thinking this class is good for runner’s. Sara ran her last 5k five minutes faster than her previous time and I ran a great 12 mile workout post class. I’m thinking about hosting a KickYo class targeted towards runners in the future….
On another Fast Forward note:
I’m officially registered for the Raleigh half-marathon (April 2nd–22 days away if you’re counting) and the hotel is booked! Super excited about this one. If you read my post last week about the Rock’n’Blog alert you read my desire to run a new Rock ‘n’ Roll race this year. With Raleigh being only 4.5 hours away it seemed like the more affordable choice. And I had points left over from a credit card to get a hotel. #winning It’s also four weeks before Nashville Marathon so I’m thinking it should fit in nicely as a tune-up kinda race. I’d like to run a 1:32 but, we’ll see what coach says, how my training progresses and things like that. I think back to my 10-miler race and how I felt good, even running that last mile in a 6:40. I feel like it’s attainable so as long as I can find my flow and not give in to my mental demons.
Annnnd my son’s birthday falls during that week so I grabbed a hotel with a pool and plan on treating him extra that weekend! He will be 12. How?
So there’s that.
Also, I’m hosting my 2nd annual Run Pink to the 5k bootcamp this May/June and I am super pumped!!!! I had a blast with it last year and I feel like I’ll love it even more now that I have more time to devote to my clients and bootcamps. More info on that to come soon.
One last fast forward note to y’all, I’m drumming up a “members only” site for all my favorite and most serious runners/readers. Be on the lookout for RPJ Elites (Run Pink Jess Elites). It will contain exclusive content, opportunities and freebies. 🙂 Of course this will take some time for me to put together so bear with me.
On an odd note my Garmin read that I ran a 0.05 minute mile the other day. Impressive I know. GPS went haywire! Does your watch ever read crazy paces and distances like that too? Link up with me on Garmin Connect and you can read about how haywire my alternate k’s run went. For a first go at that workout I don’t think I did too poorly.
Would you like to be apart of an RPJ Elites members only? Is there anything you’re looking fast forward to?
