New Year’s Eve Pregnant Gorilla and THANK YOU 2017!
Hi there! Yup. Still waiting for Baby R to arrive. Today is her due date and it appears that she has no desire to vacate her cozy confines. Growing a baby full term is ideal so I’m blessed and honored that my body has done it’s job. But, this tiny miracle is making me feel…not so miraculous these last days. Ha! And BELIEVE me when I say we’ve tried all the ‘fun natural labor inducing things’. 😉
SO. With some downtime, I wanted to pop in and let the world know just how incredibly grateful I am for all of YOU: family, friends, readers, clients, online pals. Without my support system, I would never have been able to leave my retail job to pursue my personal trainer career. It’s been a bumpy ride with plenty of hi’s and a few low’s. This year has been nothing short of blessing after blessing; new business, awesome races, new baby on the way, my big kid D is doing amazingly well in school (However, this past month has brought some personal challenges…things my family won’t share on the blog but if you are the praying kind a few extra couldn’t hurt.).
And I realize I’m blessed because not anything that I have done but everything the Lord has done (Ephesians 2:8-10) and because of all the amazing people in my life who have believed in my mission, supported me, encouraged my soul and trusted me with their training. I am a far cry from perfect but overall I feel that this community of women has grown closer together through bootcamps, races, and training.
Since I’ve had more leisure time these past few weeks I’ve also taken it upon myself to learn some fun new things for bootcamps and PT next year like MMA style training (working on an official certificate) that will include so many fun things like new high intensity/power moves involving kettlebells, weighted plates, punching bags, jump ropes to name a few (which has me ridiculously pumped!!!), more HIIT training and I’ll also be working with a local gym to make some personal training and group training more affordable. My desire is for every woman to love herself, her body and her life. Running and fitness gave this to me and nothing brings me more joy than to share this.
Oh, and in other fun news, I recently won a huge ROLL Recovery prize pack from Fleet Feet Sports Asheville! I’m still learning how to use the devil tool and once I have an honest opinion I’ll share my thoughts. As far as I can tell it’s going to be a definite benefit to my hardcore training coming up in 2018. When they announced my name live on Facebook Friday I may have gotten a wee bit excited! We drove over the next morning. I threw the hospital bags in the car just in case we had to run to the hospital.
No luck. 😉 But, winning some new massage tools is big luck for me!
I really do love New Year’s Eve and the New Year’s Day. Something refreshing about closing one chapter and beginning a new one. My vision for 2018 will be getting back to running (hopefully including a fast fall marathon), building Pink Payne Fit back up again (bringing NEW classes and bootcamps to the table!!) and of course the biggest vision of all: raising little R, my son D and continuing to love my husband well. <3
What’s your vision for 2018? Do you have much to be thankful for from 2017 or are you beyond OVER this year and pumped for the new year?

The words “I am” are potent words; be careful what you hitch them to. The thing you’re claiming has a way of reaching back and claiming you. – A. L. Kitselman
