Hello and thank you for visiting Run Pink Jess! Here’s a little bit about me:
I’m 31 years beautifully young! 😉
I’m a shorty. 5’0.25″ Yup. But my short legs take me far! There’s a body type and active lifestyle for all kinds.
I started out at a ‘goofy runner’ (according to a ‘friend): 4:24 marathon –> 3:26 // 2:04 half-marathon –> 1:31 // 27:07 5k –> 19:58 (then, insert pregnancy in 2017…)
I hold a NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certificate, Women’s Fitness Specialist cert, Corrective Exercise Cert and LOVE working with people! I train ladies from all ages, 20s-70s! Each and everyone is unique and special to me.
Running is my first, second…third love. God is my first love, my family second, and then running. 😉
I have been a victim of sexual abuse, physical abuse, and mental abuse. But, I stand before you today a new creation by the grace of God and found my strength through running and physical fitness! My story is long and deep. Get to know me more one-on-one and we can chat.
I never loved running before I turned 25. In fact, I strongly disliked running and all things fitness almost all throughout my younger years. I was “that girl” who “forgot” her sneakers in PE for fear of being required to be active. Now I run marathons and bench press like it’s nobody’s business. I am living proof we can all change with enough will power and with the right motivation.
I am a coffee addict to the max. I tried working on this but coffee anonymous didn’t work. I’m happy to report I’m still an addict.
Yes, I have struggled with weight. After the birth of my son, I still carried around an extra 30-40 pounds for a few months. Some were water weight but most of it was from Three Musketeer bars and milk…daily…#theStruggleIsReal. I remember sitting in the bathtub on many occasions with tears streaming down my face because of my hate over my body….all these stretch marks, loose skin, and fat. PLEASE be kind to yourself! Giving birth to a tiny human is HARD on the body, emotions, and mind. You WILL pull through this. I say all this to say that YES I can relate to the weight loss struggle and emotional pain. This is why I focus heavily on becoming beautifully fit from the inside out. Whether your 10-100 pounds overweight the struggle is real!
I am an open book. You will almost always know exactly how I’m feeling whether you like it or not. #Sorrynotsorry.
I enjoy hiking. In fact, it was my hubby and me’s first date. Smart I know. Go into the forest with an unknown man. So glad that one worked out!
I was a single mom for about eight years then I remarried in 2014. So I can empathize with the struggling single mom ( I ran my first marathon as a single mother. It is possible! ) and also the overwhelmed wife, mother, and blended family!
Why Run PINK?
Because it’s my favorite color. But really, I have a deeper meaning. 😉
I chose PINK because women can be both completely feminine, powerful and strong… sometimes it takes a little fierce sweat and cute pink top to get you where you want to be!
My Personal Mission as Your Personal Trainer:
My first and foremost goal is to help you find what YOU are truly passionate about and seek appropriate measures to get you where you want to be. Whether it’s weight loss, run a 5k, tone up a bit there’s always a creative way to get you there. Everyone has a different “it” factor. Some people find joy in running, Cross Fit, cross-stitching, reading, hiking, biking, cooking, swimming, dancing, walking, and the list extends beyond measure. What I aim to do is find out what YOUR “it” factor is and find ways to enhance your ability to achieve said goals. Where there’s a will there is most assuredly a way!
Fitness is not solely a “gym” term. Fitness is being active in any manner you choose. We can take it to the playground, the running track, the hiking trails, the great outdoors, your home, or anywhere you like to be. All it takes is a little creative thinking outside the box! And let me say it loud and clear:
You DO NOT have to be a “fitness junkie” to feel good about your body or to be “fit”! You simply need to learn how to live an active, full, and healthy well-balanced life! And sometimes that’s playing at the track with balls…
Or in the home with weights. Whatever works to help you on your journey.All of life is indeed one beautiful journey…
